Today we rolled out a new feature that has been in the works based on your feedback. As more and more businesses sign up, one question is how do I stand out from the others in my category? We already offered the ability to have your deal featured which comes with a ton of benefits and now with the “Hot Deal” functionality there is an additional method to stick out! If you head on over to our map, you might see some of your local businesses flagged as Hot Deals.
So, how does it work? Basically a deal is flagged as hot based on the amount of interest it is getting from consumers using myDealCompass. The more views, redeems and likes that a business is getting the more likely it is to be flagged as “Hot” and get a nice flashy red icon on the map. This signals other users that the deal must something special and drives even more views and redeems. The key to getting it all started is by offering a compelling deal that you think people would be interested in!
We will continue tweaking the algorithm to make sure that it makes sense in all situations, but we have already had some businesses flagged as “Hot”. We think this is a great way for consumers to vote for the businesses and deals that get them excited.
